I went to Stump Pond in Smithfield R.I. early in the morning, bald eagles where my desired subject for that day. I was thrilled to see a blanket of fog covering the water, it added more drama to the image. I composed the scene in camera, took a few shots and off I went seeking bald eagles.
I was on a road trip to Yellowstone National Park when I first saw Devil's Tower. I was surprised how big it was. I was so impressed with the size and shape of this massive rock sticking out of the ground I just had to stop for the day so I could take some sunset and sunrise photographs.
The Arizona Desert is a vast mostly empty place. With very little rain one would think the sunsets would be less than dramatic. But, this is not the case at Monument Valley, Arizona, the sunset on this evening was more than dramatic, it was spectacular.
When I captured this sunrise photograph I has located in the White Tank Mountains in Arizona. I had been there all night photographing the night sky and a meteor shower. When I saw the sun at first light and the sky littered with small clouds I thought to me self this was going to be a fantastic sunrise. As you can see it did not disappoint.
The sun was setting and was still shining on Cathedral rock, when I arrived at Cresent Moon State Park, Sedona, AZ. The lighting was fantastic turning the rocks several shades of orange. It was a moment I will always remember. Making the image into a B&W shows deep and rich blacks and shades of grey. (limited edition)
I was deep into the Painted Desert for several hours waiting for the right time to capture the setting sun. It was a sight to be seen and I captured it with my camera. Nature is beautiful, enjoy it at every opportunity.
